C-1216 Gas Strut for Canopy

Just tried to install the gas strut for the canopy, C-1216 and the end cracked off. Had very little pressure on the strut. Happened when I was trying to insert the aft bolt.

Anyone experience similar with the gas strut ends?

Sorry Marty...mine work fine and have gone up and down many times. Sounds like you got a lemon.
