So I'm still about 10 months out from getting my IO-540 Thunderbolt and have 'almost' run out of things to do. I obviously can't fit the cowl or any of the other engine 'accoutrements' without it. There's a place in MCO that rents engine mockups which are basically an engine that's beyond repair but suitable for 'fitting' purposes. Except they don't have a 540.
Does anyone know of a place in Florida that might be able to rent me a mockup or even a prop strike engine for a few weeks so that I can at least get the cowl fit and save some time when my engine finally arrives?
