Beringer ALIR Regulator Bracket

I'm just starting what seems to be pretty complex. I'm using the Beringer brake/wheels from Van's which comes with the Flightline hoses. I have the Van's instructions and I also found the Flightlines instructions, but it assumes you are using the Approach Path rudder pedals (I'll be using the standard). I also found the Beringer installation manual. It's a lot of information to parse through for a first-time builder. Any advice is appreciated!
But my immediate question is regarding this bracket. I understand it may actually be provided unbent, but I just don't have it. I can't find a part number with which to search for it, either. I see AV-VANS-006 here but searching for it on Google only turns up the Berigner installation instructions.

I just finished installing the Beringer brake package in my RV14 literally 5 minutes before taking a break to pat myself on the back and coming across your post. I am full of opinions as to how it went. After I am now finished I can say it is as actually fairly straightforward.

So to answer your first question, I went through the exact same scenario with that bracket. Must have spent 5 to 6 hours looking for it and trying to find a part number to no avail. Actually started to manufacture a duplicate from raw aluminum. I finally actually found the bracket in the last place I looked (of course) I know that this doesn’t directly help you. But just to let you you know that you have company.

When you find it and proceed to bend it let it be known. I have a few suggestions that might save you time.

Is that bracket a normal aluminum piece with the protective film? I'll look for it again. Meanwhile, some questions:
  • I actually don't think I have the anti-lock braking component (called SRVFU06)... just four master cylinders. So perhaps that's why I'm missing the brakcet.
  • The Flightline Systems brake line kit seems to have the smaller "4" screw-on ends on all of the lines. But out of all of the blue-colored pipe fittings in my kit, the only ones that are size 4 are some AN822-4Ds. Everything else is size 6 and I think that's all for fuel.

There are four basic kit configurations.
1. Basic kit configurations. This comes with the four master brake cylinders.
2. Basic + antiskid
3. Basic + parking brake
4. Basic + antiskid + parking brake.
The bracket you mentioned is only needed for kits 2 and 4. Which one are you installing?

Yes I found it confusing since I got my fuel lines at the same time as my brake lines. I finally had to call support to ask. The most helpful page on the AircraftSpecialty instructions is the bottom of page 19 and the top of page 20. All of the hoses have a tag on them that have a number that ends in H1 through H18. For each hose it tells you which two components it connects.

I would recommend that you layout the entire system on a table and connect everything. But DO NOT tighten the connections once you do do you will need new washers or to will leak. It becomes fairly intuitive after that.

I got my Beringer kit from Van's and I don't think they offered me any options. I'm going to have to assume I don't have the antiskid nor the parking brake.

Ok makes sense. I got mine directly from Aircraft Specialty and Beringer before Vans offered that option. I am going to assume that they only offer the basic kit. I am also going to assume that since Aircraft Specialty builds the hoses that Vans provide, that they are labeled in the same manner and that the instructions still apply.

By the way, I am happy to answer any questions regarding this package since it is fresh in my head. However you can always call Steve at Aircraft Specialty. He is very, very good at customer support and will clear up any questions you may have.

Let me know if I can be of further help.

Thank you! I think I'm good to get started at least. I also seem to be missing a bunch of the fittings that should have come with my kit. I guess I missed it when doing the original kit inventory.

I was an early adopter. Mine is basic with parking brake. It came with the Anti lock but I chose not to install it. That saved four lines, four points of failure and some weight. Since I fabricated all the lines, I also chose to make the lines from P-brake to caliper, one piece. No junctions. More weight saved. Just another data point.

I made my own similar bracket to mount it under the parking brake valve, that way the hoses are shorter and I keep the center region free for other stuff (control cables, avionics, etc.).
