Bend in firewall

When I received my QB fuse, the firewall was bent along the top. Today I mounted my brake reservoir and it took four washers for it to clear the firewall. How far should the firewall be bent?

Use the top skin

If you attach and match drill the top forward fuselage skin, it will dictate the amount of bend required at the top of the firewall.

It's already bent. Am I safe to assume that after mounting the forward structure and the skin it will pull back a bit?

Yes it will bend aft.

I've had the top skin on and off many times. I also needed 4 washers* for clearance with the skin on. Now that the top skin is off, the reservoir touches the firewall.

* I made spacers that = 4 washers instead of using a stack of washers.

Me too

I ran into the same problem recently. I called Van's about it to learn that when you start adding your other pieces down the road, that 'bend' will pull back quite a bit. I ended up with 3 washers on each bolt.
