battery hold-down

With the battery hold-down spacers cut precisely to 1 1/16 inch, there's about 1/32 inch (or a little more) space between the top of the battery and the hold-down (F-1201-S). Is this the way it's supposed to be or should I take more off the spacers?

New nose strut installed today-- fits perfectly.

Nylon strips

Wayne:

Did you install the called out nylon strips on the channels below the battery? These prevent the aluminum channels from cutting into the battery and would be about the thickness of the gap you describe.

put all four nylon strips in place

I made my spacers using the drill press and they are dead on in length. I hace the same gap you describe. I am going to use strips of thin neoprene between the battery and the clamps.
