Basic avionics enclosure

I have finally obtained all my avionics gear and need to start building the enclosure behind the control panel. Can anyone suggest what gauge aluminum I should start with for the side panels?

Do you mean something other than the trays the avionics come with?

I suggest some extruded angle to support the avionics trays. An enclosure would restrict cooling airflow, which would be a bad thing.
