Balancing HStabilator?

Gents,

we just hinged the HStabilator with counter balance weight behind the tailcone and it feels awefully out of balance (To heavy at the counter balance weight part) We still need to fit the trim tabs and servo mechism, but I can't believe how forward heavy the Hstab is currently.

At what stage in the RV12 plans do you balance the HStab out? Or is the RV12 suppose to be that front heavy i.e. 'up elevator'? (My Rv7 and RV10 is not...)

Don't worry about the weight yet. After you add the control cables and rigging it is balanced, no need to balance it. I thought the same thing until I rigged the control cables.
