Bagage door hinge

Last question for tonight. Has anyone else found it imposible or rather almost imposible to insert the hinge pin in the piano hinge halves after it's all assembled as per the plans ( page 34-6 step 6 ) or did we fabricate something wrong?

You did it correctly.

Try giving the top hinge eyelet a very slight twist, just enough to clear the fuse.

After the pin is in, you can tap the eyelet back into position.

Instead of riveting the hinge on, I installed nut plates to hold the hings to the fuselage and installed the hing on "straight". No protruding hing pin.

I thought about using nut plates but then thought the hinge pin would make the door removable. It's riveted on now. We'll have to do as Rick suggested.
