Where can you buy the baffles that go under the bottom between the cylinders for the lycoming engine. My 540 does not have them and I need .
a set of six. The cylinder head temp is ok now in Feb and Mar but I can see the cyl's getting too hot this summer.
Thanks Harry
This covers a lot of them, but if you give us the 540 model number I'll check.

Thanks Mark you are correct I only need four.Harry,
You should only need four.
I found a couple on Ebay for my 0-360.
Mark
Gil, it is an 0540 E4C5
My old parts manual shows the following for an "E" model
4 pcs 74718 Baffle assembly
4 pcs 72834 Cover, Baffle Ignition hole (held on by 2 pcs. 10-32 screws for each cover)
4 pcs 71611 Retainer
4 pcs 71610 Hook
It looks like they are all current part numbers... the cover plate looks just like a flat plate... you could make that yourself.

Try calling some of your local engine re-builders, these parts look like the ones they would throw away when they scrap or major overhaul an engine.
...hope this helps... gil A
