I've got my engine hung on my -8 and was thinking of installing the baffling so I can complete wiring/plumbing of the engine. My idea is to do the basic fitting now while everything is easily accessible and do the final trimming and painting later. The directions say the lower cowling should be in place prior to the installation of the baffling. Is this necessary? Is there some matching of the cowling and baffling that must be done at this time?
