Avionics Master Switch Question

A buddy has a Garmin GTX-327 Xpdr and is experiencing a strange situation. His avionics are all wired through an avionics master switch. When he powers up the avionics bus, all the radios turn on with the exception of the GTX 327 which then needs to be manually started. Here?s the rub- when he turns off the avionics master, the GTX 327 shuts off with the rest of the radios?
Why doesn?t it power up with them if it is on the same circuit? Is there some sort of internal setting that is required to make it power up when the switch is thrown?

Not an internal setting, but you must wire the input power to both pins 01 and 15 if using an avionics master switch.

It needs a second power wire run to pin 1 on the connector. It is in the installation manual but is easy to miss. See Note 5 in the manual on the connection diagram. This power input is required for avionics master power-up.

When you close the avionics master you are removing it's power source , it has no choice but to shut-off.
