Apollo GX-65, internal battery?

When flying this morning my Apollo/Garmin GX-65 had a message saying the internal battery had failed and to turn off the unit and return for servicing. I continued the flight , shut down for several hours, returned home and had the same message. It seemed to work fine and still had my user waypoints in memory.

This unit was serviced about a year ago.

Anyone have any knowledge of advice about this internal battery?

I had an GX 55 that had the same thing happen. There is an internal battery that keeps all your user data and setup from dissapearing when you shut the unit down. You will have to send it to Garmin for replacement. As I remember when I sent mine in it was a short turn around and had it back pretty quick, they also updated the operating software while it was there. Give Garmin a call.
