AOG BLOWN NOSEWHEEL TUBE

I've blown a nosewheel tube on my 7A in the Houston area. Does anyone in the Houston area know if a replacement tube and tire is available locally. And does anyone also know if the Antisplat nosewheel bearing mod that I have requires special tools or knowledge to replace the tube and tire, or should any mechanic be able to successfully mount a new tube and tire for me.

Any mechanic can replace the tube. It will actually be easier.

No special tools required for the anti splat mod.

Good luck on finding a tube. The nose wheel size is not real common in certified aircraft and shops might not have them in stock.

If the nosewheel on the 7A is the same size as it was on our 9A, I would call the local Tractor supply. They have what you need out there... They should have the tube and may have the tire in stock as well. Be advised they carry the same size tire but it will not be 8 ply; the tire they carry is a 4 ply tire.

I got my tube at NAPA, it was in stock, I forget the part number.
