We have issued a recall effective immediately on all of our new combination Jack Point tie-downs sold prior to 7/11/24. We were made aware of a problem in the heat treatment of these, and they are having some failures. Please discontinue the use of these defective items immediately and dispose of them. We made another 5,000 new units and have already shipped your replacements with updated instructions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We appreciate your loyalty and faith in us. We try to maintain the highest quality and standards with all our products and services. Maybe someone needs to design and offer an Anti-splat Anti-splat tie down ring / jack point?

We sold the first ones on 3/21/24 and all that was sold were sold by us! We have notified everyone and sent out a duplicate of their original order. Thanks, Allan

How do you identify old vs new?

So, I’ll ask again. You automatically sent out replacements but don’t have the old ones back. Now there will be old and new out there. That’s another accident waiting to happen, perhaps years down the road.
If you don’t have any identifying marks on the new ones, it’s a guess to which one you have.
This is one reason manufacturers use serial numbers, casting marks with dates, and other “batch”‘identification marks.
If those exist, you can publish what series is the issue. If you don’t……
