Ampmeter shunt

Does the ampmeter shunt get mounted on the engine or cabin side of the firewall. Or does it matter.

The electronic guys will always tell you to mount their equipment on the cabin side "just because".

I mounted my Hall Effect Sensor on the engine side.

Since an ammeter shunt is a passive component and should not be temperature sensitive, mount it in a location that keeps the heavy current wires (the current being measured) as short as possible.

I put mine on the firewall.
