Alternator power

Ron B.

We are just getting started with our wiring for an RV-10. We have added a second battery and are wandering if both battery master solenoids failed for some reason can the alternator provide power to get you down without the battery masters working ? The alternator master would have to be on and wired correctly. Is this what most would have?
Thanks Ron

Alternators require a exciting voltage, so if your alternator exciting voltage is wired after the batter master, then they will not work. Just for this reason, i have wired an emergency battery wire which goes directly to the avionincs bus in case of this scenario.
