I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience with using adhesives other than Pro-seal. (i'm not buying pro-seal till I get to the tanks). I am looking forward in my project when I need to install aluminum strips for nutplates on fiberglass tips, or secure zip tie pads for tubing and wiring, etc.
I have used Dow 3145 RTV on the ends of rudder/elevator stiffeners before riveting. Just not sure that it is always the best 'glue' to use in other areas. I see in the Stewart S51 build manual they recommend using 3M 2216 structural adhesive in conjunction with the build on some items, but this seems extreme for non critical areas.
What are other builders using for adhesive other than pro-seal? Do I stock up on 3145 RTV?? Or just use west systems epoxy??
Any thoughts?
