Alt getting warm in Batt position

I have a 60 amp Plane Power alternator and am using Bob Nuckolls architecture (Z 11). I noticed that when I have my master switch in the Batt position, the alternator warms up. Is this normal or have I miswired something??

Is The ALT switch off when you have BATT on? Check and make sure you have no field voltage with the ALT switch in off position. Start there. Brent

Pull the alt field breaker and check for field voltage. Sounds like your switch might be miswired. Let us know what you discover.

Found Problem

Brent, Tony thank you.

I pulled the master switch out...sure enough I had the field wire for the Alt on terminal #6...should have been on #4. Alternator now cool in Batt position and gets warm in Alt/Batt position.
