Alodine Shop

Can anyone recommend a coatings shop in N. Texas where I can get a bunch of stuff Alodined?

I realize I can find the shops by Googling (and in fact have found a couple) - what I'm looking for is a recommendation and feedback from someone who has used an outside shop to do this.

Also - I've heard that Alodined parts are harmless to handle. I've also heard they can be hazardous to handle (something about the conversion coating re-oxidizing and exposing you to hexavalent chromium). Anyone know the true story on that? Just curious.

Thanks!

No, I meant Alodining. I'm scared of the stuff and would prefer to outsource it. The prices I'm seeing are around a penny per square inch. They clean, acid wash and alodine for that price.

I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with someone local.
