How do you deal with the carburetor infringement on the air filter. Previous owner looked like they cut a notch out of the air filter in order to clear the accelerator pump on the Marvel Schebler carburetor. Then they just filled in the gap with RTV. If that is the correct procedure, then how do you check for loose RTV and correct seal in the carburetor after the airbox is reinstalled? Is there an adapter available to deal with this?

Notching the filter and sealing with fuel tank sealant is the procedure outlined in the FAB instructions from Vans. See attached link.
