Aileron torque tube binding

I'm having a problem with the bell crank to aileron torque tube rubbing against the aileron inboard bracket. Talked to a few builders at OSH who had the same problem and they just grinded it off. I'm reluctant to do this. Has anyone had this problem and changed washers/spacers, or any other solution ?

Thanks, Bob

I'm pretty sure what you are talking about has been discussed here before. Try a search, it's a common problem and we had the same. Check to see if it only rubs on the last part of it's travel. The ailerons don't travel as far as you think , and after installed to the linkage does not pass where the rubbing occurs. I did not believe it but chose to wait until the final linkage was installed and the problem was solved. I think you are duscribing the same think.

My LAA inspector in UK suggested adjusting the order/spacing of the washers and spacers to move the rod slightly inboard.
