I purchased the Aerosun Vx landing/taxi lights for mounting in the wingtop.
With this kit, you have to cut out a corner of the current RV-10 fiberglass wingtip then fit the supplied adapter in the opening. I did that, following and re-checking the cut-out dimensions.
Trying to fit the aerosun adapter fiberglass parts, the initial fitting on the RH side, the adapter points outboard maybe 5 degrees. In order to make this side fit, I will have to remove in some places another 1/4" or more of material, and the light will still be pointed outboard the same 5 degrees.
The left side is not nearly as bad.
Yes, I have sanded original fiberglass where it was quite thick. I can get anything to fit expecially if it is fiberglass, but before I start removing any more material I want to find out if anybody else has encountered this issue.
