Aerobatic training videos

In anticipation of the impending second first flight of Black Magic, I decided to get some aerobatic training in the Super Decathlon I did my initial tailwheel training....kinda kill two birds with one stone, get some aero time and tailwheel time at the same time.

Ashley is an airline safety check pilot who flies his Christian Eagle (you can see the Christian Eagle ride I took last year if you check my youtube videos). Well I can say without hesitation, this instruction was worth it's weight in gold.

We started with smooth 2.5-3 g pullups to a 45 degree upline, stabilized the line for a four count then pushed over the top to a 45 degree downline. He starts with these two lines and adds the rest of the maneuvers to these lines.

We ended up doing aileron rolls, loops, inverted flight and 3-4 revolution spins. The pointers he was able to give on the loop and the various spin entries was worth the entire flight.

Again, if you get a chance, get some aerobatic instruction. I look forward to incorporating these newly found tidbits into my future RV flying.

Here are a couple short videos of a loop and inverted flight. Nothing big, just something from the thrown together "helmet cam" ......my little Canon Power Shot $150 camera. I was using the power lines you can see in the videos as my reference line.
