Advice needed: Rust inside Lycoming Cylinder

I have a low time (less than 100hrs) O-320, nitride hardened Cylinder which shows some pits and patches of rust.
I cleaned/decarbonized the head inside but did not touch the cylinder liner yet.

What do the engine experts recommend to do?

Since this is a very low time engine, and you already have it apart, you may want to hone the cylinders and install new rings.

I have had good sucess in the past with removing fairly minor rust from cylinders with scotchbrite by hand, then cleaning thoroughly and reinstalling the existing piston and rings. Some minor pitting will not affect the cylinder, especially if it is smoothed out with some scotchbrite.

Thank you Mike!
Appreciated.

I would love to see a couple of more answers from others.
Come on.
