We are currently in the pre-Oshkosh rush to get everything shipped to the show and get the RV-10 ready for our annual trip to Wisconsin. After doing a compression check and bore scope last Sunday it became obvious that it was time to replace the lower spark plugs. I recently noticed that the FBO in Scappoose had plugs for only $26, when you have a 6 cylinder engine that is a savings of $48. Scappoose is a one hour drive at best or a 15 minute flight, it is times like these that it is really handy to have use of a spare airplane and software that needs to be flight tested.
Now that the Sportsman has a new panel with our latest equipment we can also use it for software testing.
The shortest distance between Canby and Scappoose is flying right down the river through downtown Portland.
Some really big golf balls on a ship
After installing the new spark plugs I really needed to test them
Flying down the river again with the wing on the bottom
Portland has a number of Dry Docks with interesting ships being worked on.
I had not flown the RV-10 in the Columbia Gorge since installing the new Avidyne IFD-540 software with synthetic vision so we headed east before sunset.
