Any active RV-10 builds in Central Florida? I'm interested in networking and willing to travel and provide (currently unskilled) labor for your build in exchange for the education. I'm based near Leesburg. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in meeting up.

Eric

I'm in central GA, right next to KMLJ, working on an RV-10. If you have a working airplane that might not be too inconvenient.

I’m not building but you’re more than welcome to stop by anytime, especially when I’m doing the condition inspection while everything is opened up.

I am in Sebastian - X26 and am about to complete the wings. Fuel tanks are in progress. I will then move on to the fuse probably in March.

Todd - I too am interested in visiting with you. I am particularly intrigued by the canopy fairing you employed.

Thanks

Dennis, I sent Eric an open invitation to swing by anytime I'm available to visit my hangar and talk RV-10s. Of course, feel free to shoot me questions anytime but I must add the disclaimer that my 10 is coming up on its first flight 10-year anniversary so my build memories are becoming faded, and I don't have any experience with the latest kits.

As far as the canopy fairing, I'm not sure I'm tracking what you are referring too as my build generally was according to the plans with little deviation. But happy to discuss.

Todd - I thought you had an aluminum canopy fairing rather than the fiberglass layers. I saw a photo of this fairing one day, thought it was yours, and probably should have asked immediately.

It would be interesting to stop in during your annual just to see how the RV10 fast forwards to 10 years. I start my RV14 annual next week and will be down for a week or two.

Thanks

I’ll extend the same invite as Todd. I am located at KBKV Brooksville, 50 mi N of Tampa, 10 mi off the coast. My build was completed in 2020. I have a good number of mods as discussed here, but no AC.

Regards,
Bill

I'm definitely going to take both of you up on it. Maybe buy lunch and pick your brains. In general I'm finding myself overwhelmed with all of the options and when along the build journey I would need to make decisions. Add to that not wanting to run into any waiting periods for stuff to be delivered leads me into analysis paralysis. I don't even have the shop built and I'm already going down rabbit holes on avionics, engine options, and what needs to be installed in the various kits to support such things. Like AP servo brackets and such. I have the majority of my tools. The next purchase is the toolbox and sign practice kit.
