7.9 mm drill bit

Where are most people getting the 7.9mm drill bit for the gear legs, as specified in the manual. Haven't tried locally but doubt it is available locally. Is it a bit that would be a standard in metric set? I know, I'm Canadian and we are suposed to be a metric country but reality is, just about everything comes from you guys so we end up working with standard hardware mostly.
Thanks Ron

Nope... I've never seen one... and I have a couple of metric sets. It might be available but you won't find that in a std hardware store(Go to Canadian Tire and try to find a #41 drill bit... you'll see maybe 1 or 2 kit with it.... but most of the stuff is fraction of inches). You'll have to contact machine shop suppliers.

Looks about as close as you can get to 5/16"!

7.9 mm = .311"
5/16 = .3125"

Letter size bits are not even close.....

7,9 mm drill bit? Easy!

We can get them everywhere :p.

I like this one! At least there is one item that we can get, "off the shelf", for a 'buck and a half", from most tool shops and specialist hardware stores.
Now you can experience what it is like, for us, all the time! :D. Everything else has to come from across the big pond !.

Good luck, Tonny.

Don't use 5/16"...

All AN5 bolts are generally right about .311 " instead of .325 (5/16"). If you use 5/16 the bolt will be slightly loose (not a good thing).

Thanks for the replies, I will look to our suppliers on Monday to try and find one. If Tonny can find a 7.9mm everywhere, I should be able to source one out.
RVBuilder 2002; I know what you meant to write was .3125" for 5/16" rather than .325. The 7.9 mm is only 1.5 thousandth of an inch smaller, but must make a difference or Van's would not ask for it.

woops....not used to the little keyboard on this new notebook computer I was using. Yes I meant .3125". And yes, when it means the difference between a lightly tap in fit or loose, .0015" is a lot.

Also looks like Avery has them--7.9mm reamers.
