500 hrs on the School Bus

Today I caught this on the Hobbs.....

To re-cap a little the first flight was on March 28, 2012.

We have been enjoying the airplane with trips to see relatives in other states and other activities that require travel.

Last weekend we attended a memorial service in PA.

Maintenance:

  • Changed the oil and filter at 50 hr intervals.
  • Sent an oil sample to Blackstone Labs every 100 hrs
  • Added plane parts axle extensions at 200 hrs. fixed loose wheel pants problem
  • Rotated main gear tires on rims at approx 300 hrs (still on original tires but about 1/2 of landings are on turf)
  • Removed nose wheel fork and honed, cleaned and re greased nose fork bushing at 425 hrs
  • Replaced Champion fine wire plugs due to high resistance at 450 hrs with tempest fine wire
  • replaced original massive electrode Bosh plugs with NGK fine wire plugs at 400 hrs
  • cleaned air filter at 200 hr intervals

All in all has been a very good airplane. Hope it will continue.
 
Indicated air Speed

Do you get 173 - 174 knots indicated airspeed on a regular basis if you do whats your secret.

That's faster then the stock vans numbers.
