46-06 Engine Mount Tip

Bob Kibby

Well Known Member
Don't be fooled by step 3 "the engine mount ring will fit into the engine without without using force if the correct sequence is followed". This lulled me into a false sense of security. No problem getting the mount ring in place but there was no way I could get the mount to align per step 5. After wasting an hour I decided to start all over. Removed the mount ring and attemped to engage the upper mount ring with the upper engine case. No joy, I could not get the mount over the case. The problem was the powder coating over the mount mating side of the mount ring. Removed the interferring powder coating and problem solved. Tip, check your mount ring for powder coat interferrence before starting step 3.

Errands tomorrow, will hang engine on Wednesday.

Giddyup,
Bob Kibby
