-3 Cockpit floor skin ??

I have observed pics of -3 cockpit floor skins extending out to wing like fairing strip. I don't see this on the plans. Is this an advisable improvement or am I missing something ??

The floor pans should extend several inches beyond the fueselage as they will eventually tie into the wings. Dont cut them short! Ask me how I know....
