Also remember that there will be a Red Arrows Airshow Friday, Saturday and Sunday which means the 'burn line' (show line) will be displaced on those days to the West, back to the speaker pole line. That does not include the Night Airshow on Saturday; that will be back to the East burn line. If someone leaves their chairs on the East burn line before the Red Arrows fly, they will be picked up.

If you are parked/camped between the East burn line and the speaker pole line, you will have unlimited access Friday and Saturday until 1:15. After that you must be escorted to your site until 4:30. After 4:30 to show close: essential personnel only and no access to your site. Sunday: open until 12pm, limited access until 2:30, then essential personnel until show close. Of course, this will only affect those parked East of Wittman Road.
I'm HEEEERE!!!!

So I'm thinking about attending Airventure this year for the first time. Of course, at this late date, there is no lodging nearby. But, there is lodging available in Appleton and Green Bay (among other locations). It looks like Appleton is about a 30 minute drive and Green Bay is an hour- ish (based on travel times today). Is that correct? Does daily traffic in and out of the show significantly affect those commute times during show week??

It looks like Appleton hotels are around $500 at the low end with Green Bay less than half that. Not sure if I want to drive an extra 30-45 minutes each way to save the $$$.

Also, any advice on where to park at the show? I'll be driving a rental car if go.

Oh, one more - any thoughts on the Aviators Club South?
I have stayed in Appleton and didn’t consider it much of a hassle. Get a weekly parking pass and I was happy with the Gray Lot. Busses frequently run there to/from main gate. Never had a long line in or out of the lot. Side note: keep checking hotel web sites as you get closer. Last year I cancelled an expensive room at a sketchy motel and moved to the Candlewood Suites for under $200/night at the last minute. Prices could drop as you get closer.
