Sponsor
Location: CYYJ - Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

INCLUDED:

- Standard Empennage kit with AeroLED LN-210 Suntail strobe / position - deburred only, otherwise unstarted
- QuickBuild Wing kit - unopened in original crate
- QuickBuild Fuselage kit - unopened in original crate
- Lycoming Thunderbolt YIO-390-EXP-119, red case / grey cylinders, dual E mags, acc pad - new in box, never uncrated/installed
- Hartzell C2YR-1BFP/F7497 74" aluminum 2-blade constant-speed prop - new in box

WHY I'M SELLING:
First child has arrived, and I am realizing that this project needs to go to a good home that can give it the time and attention that it deserves!

CONDITION:
All components are essentially new. The only work done is deburring on the empennage parts - nothing cut, drilled, or assembled beyond that. Engine and prop have never been uncrated. This is about as close to "order from Van's today" as a used kit gets, minus the half-year wait and minus today's pricing. Replacements for the critical laser cut parts are also included as per Vans recommendation.

PRICE: $149,500 OBO for the complete package (kit + engine + prop)

Replacement cost for these same items new from Van's/Lycoming/Hartzell today runs nearly $175,000, plus a 6+ - month wait on the QB wing and fuselage and 14 to 18 months for Lycoming. Here's the breakdown by component:

Standard Empennage Kit (deburred only) - new replacement value $8,400 - asking $3,900
QuickBuild Wing Kit (unopened) - new replacement value $28,300 - asking $24,900
QuickBuild Fuselage Kit (unopened) - new replacement value $35,500 - asking $31,100
Lycoming Thunderbolt IO-390-EXP (new in box) - new replacement value $83,725 - asking $79,100
Hartzell 74" aluminum 2-blade CS prop (new in box) - new replacement value $12,463 - asking $10,500
Full Tool set from Browns, plus DRDT 2 c-frame dimpler, pneumatic dimpler, and extra tungsten bars, new replacement value approx. $4,500 - asking (0$ with asking price offer on full package)
TOTAL - new replacement value $172,888 USD - asking $149,500 USD

(as taxes and duty has been paid for import into Canada this means that a Canadian buyer will save about $49,000 USD or $70k CAD and will avoid lead times, and extra shipping costs from the USA)

I'd prefer to sell as a package, but am open to discussing if you're a serious buyer with a specific need.

LOCATION: Victoria, BC (CYYJ). Buyer arranges shipping/pickup; freight quotes available on request for wing/fuse crates.

Josh is legit. I’d buy his kit myself but I don’t have another multi year project left in me.

Update:

New crate has been constructed for the EMP, and a video walkthrough is available upon request from serious parties, as well as all invoices and imports docs.

I have some folks interested in the Full kit and some interested in the components, I would like to continue talks on the full kit for another week or two prior to considering parting it out.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks!

Can you advise the year the prop was manufactured?

And are these CAD or USD?

(I’m interested only in the prop)

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. I am not sure when it was manufactured, box has not been opened. I took delivery April 22, 2022, and there is a date of March 23, 2022 on the box. Serial number is B41623B, Hartzell should be able to provide dates if needed. All prices are USD.
