Scouty has gone West..........
Nine and a half years ago, I met a best friend and discovered a great new use for these flying machines we love. Then named Olivia, a little Boxer rescue, Scout came into our lives via a plane ride in our family's magic carpet.
Kate was just a little girl then, but she made the executive decision that Scout was coming home. Since that time, Scouty, even with all her quirkiness, wormed her way into our hearts, especially that of my wife, Andi.
It was especially hard to let her go this morning, but we know like all good girls, she goes to a better place. I'd like to think that finding her started me, and several other VAFers, on the path to perform many rescue flights all over the country.
She truly was a good girl, and we will miss her dearly........

Sorry to hear this Pete. I am not a dog guy but know how special they are to people that have them. I'm sure you will miss her.

Condolences
My deepest condolences. I know that pain having lost our puppy after 16 years. It took four years to start looking for another. Boxers are awesome. We wanted a similar disposition but in a small package. After numerous attempts to adopt a Frenchie or Pug rescue, we finally decided to buy from a breeder. Our tiny Pug came home with Parvo. Poor thing was 1lb when we rushed her to the hospital. They saved her and she's our constant companion. Sweetest dog that's ever owned me. Breeder was very upset and refunded the sale.
I started walking again. 2 miles a day. She loves meeting people and dogs.
Mia (Amelia) says she's very sorry.

So sorry to hear it. We're boxer people too and we've had two. Our #2 (Aggie) is about 7 and I'm coming under increased pressure to secure a 2nd.
Your pictures from when she was younger looked so much like our #1 (Ginger). We lost her when she was 9. We are still good friends with her breeder. I miss all the dogs I've had in my life.

We lost a horse not long ago and a friend brought up the rainbow bridge. I had not heard of it previously and the original author is unknown.
Enjoy.

Great Thread. Sorry to hear of your loss. We have adopted a couple of older (4 year) boxers... and are on our 5th boxer now (well, we have 3 in the house).
Would love to hear more about your deliveries and organization - can you PM any info?
