Default Farewell Ren? Bubberman

With a heavy heart I am announcing that our good friend, former chairman of the Dutch Association of Homebuilders and member of this forum, Rene Bubberman, has died yesterday in an airplane accident.

As usually on Friday afternoons he was practicing formation flying with two J3's when something went wrong.

On this forum he is known as being one of the first guys that applied the procedure of gluing the canopy with Sikaflex. He also developed the idea of an internal rudder stop.

He meant a lot for the Dutch GA scene in general and specifically for our association.

He leaves behind a wife and a son. Our thoughts are with them.

Oh bugger...

I bantered with the Dutch group when we were building our RV7 from '04 - '10. This was pre forums and the speed of our coms these days.

Rene and his crew were passionate and involved with their RV and we swapped info on a few occasions.

What sad news.

This is so sad. I just found out through the Aerosance FADEC group. I met up with Ren? and his crew at Oshkosh and we ordered our engines together from Mattituck. What a sad, sad loss.
