Cowling Side "Hinge"

Louavul

Well Known Member
["][/URL]Preparing to install the lower cowling side hinge pieces wanting to be sure I have the position correct. Drawing 45 says just above the firewall/side skin radius. Well, that depends on the interpretation. I've gotten burned more than once overthinking things like this. So, does my placement look correct in the photo, one rivet hole up from the radius?

As always, Many Thanks, I would have given up long ago had it not been for this resource.

You can go down a little further and it won't hurt - another eyelet. Probably what you have is OK. Not necessary to overthink. Put the extra eyelet in an then cut it out if you have problems. You will lose a fraction of an ounce at worst.
