I added a SAF-AIR P5000 to mine about 2 months ago. I believe the threads are aluminum, but don't quote me on that. It felt like aluminum while torqueing it, for what it's worth
I can say that it appears to be of very high quality. I used Loctite 567 (https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-234451-Sealant-degrees-Temperature/dp/B005P3KAUW) on the threads and safety'd it.

+1 for the Fumoto. Less expensive, higher quality. Drain outlet size is larger, so it drains quickly.
