First Flight of my RV-8

Christer

Well Known Member
This morning the weather cleared so the time was perfect for a first flight. Other than the excitement of the flight, it was uneventful just the way I like it. I flew for about 50 minutes, most of it circling the airport. Did an approach stall and it stalls at 51 kts, full flaps. The landing was a smooth wheel landing. It climbs like a home sick angel, initial cruse speed at 3000' is about 165-170 kts. I have a 180 hp Titan (ECI) XO-360 engine, dual p-mags, Hartzell blended airfoil constant speed prop. A slight heavy left wing and an erratic fuel quantity indication (hope just a lose connections) are the only squawks to report. All the big pieces seems to have stayed attached. Here is the RV grin photo ...

Congratulations Christer, great to see you're in the air. You're going to love the 8 and the avionics.

Congratulations Christer
You've been a lot of help as I worked through my 8a panel install.
I'll talk to you in a month or so to work out configuration;^)
