Default Panel layout program

I remember seeing a program for laying out a panel that had most instruments sizes and shapes. I have picked out the instruments that I am going to use and the general layout, but it would be nice to have a program down the road to help with cutting the panel. If anyone could point me in that direction it would help.

Default I used Xpanel...

It's free to use, and I really like it, but you can't save your work without paying for it. Trust me... you'll want to save your work, because laying out your panel is a significant process of MANY iterations... iterations... iterations....!! 8-)

I recommend solidworks. EAA offers a license with your membership. Vans offers models of the panel and sub panel and most avionics companies offer 2D and 3D models of their equipment. Itís helpful to model not only the face of the panel, but also the space claim behind the panel.

The minimum number of planes one should own is one. The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of planes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of planes owned that would result in separation from your partner.
