Push open, push closed access panel
Anybody find a source for a hinge that you can press on and it opens then simply press it closed again?
Kind of like the old CD player access doors or an ashtray?
Thanks,

I've seen some covers that operate the way you describe, but I don't recall how they were made. Seems like some were off the shelf, and some were homemade. I think the secret is in the latch, not in the hinge, but it depends on the design. Some car gasoline hatch covers operate the way you describe.
A little different, but my 172 has a flush button that you push to open the hatch. Seems like we discussed this several years ago. Did you search the archives?
P.S. After I posted, I read your signature line. With your resume of RV building experience, you should be able to just tell us how to make or where to buy one!

I've seen one made from a cabinet latch from Home Depot.

I plan to use one of these if I ever put my map box door on.
