Installing Static Ports

A little tip: When installing the static port rivets (Page 10-08), I would not suggest using a hammer to pound out the unneeded center steel stem - its too easy to dent the side skin. Instead, drill a @ 3/16" hole in a small (@ 1" x 1") block of wood. Put the block on the inside of the side skin with the hole over the static port shop head. Then cut a @ 1/2" long piece of used LP-4 rivet stem (you can probably find one lying around :D), square-up the ends, and put it in the exterior static port hole. Use a ratching bar clamp (or C-clamp) to squeeze the unneeded center steel stem out into the block. No trauma to the side skin! Keep on squeez'in!

That worked great! Thanks. It helped to embed the head of the rivet stem/driver into the rubber of the quick clamp for easy positioning.
