GDL 39 quit pairing with my Garmin Pilot on Iphone or I Pad

I updated the Garmin 796 databases and software to the latest version which supposedly when connected to the GDL 39 antenna updates that as well. The GDL 39 pairs immediately with the G796 but no longer will pair with the Garmin App on my Iphone or Ipad. To tell you the truth I'm not sure if this problem coincided with the software update. I get a message on my phone that says something like make sure it is in range. I've tried rebooting phone and Ipad and turning GDL 39 off/on.

Are there any other procedures to try to solve this problem?

Type in GDL 39 manual on the WEB. Go to Bluetooth setup.

Blue tooth

Try turning off blue tooth on one of your devices. I have to turn off blue tooth on my phone when I get in my plane in order for the iPad to connect.
