Placard - Exterior Latch
Hi, I have my final inspection for my 14 next week and I need to placard the operation of the tip up canopy latch. Any photos or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jim

I was not painted at the time of inspection so had my daughter create vinyl labels providing instructions. This photo is while prepping to install the JDAir latch.

Uh? Where is this requirement coming from? I’ve not enjoyed having a plane with door opening instructions.

Probably from Canada since that's where he's located.

Makes sense thanks Mel. I wonder what other special Canadian placards are required?

Not sure if it’ll “fly” north of the border, but in a pinch during the inspection my FAA inspector let some blue masking tape with sharpie writing pass. Keep some on hand just in case you miss something.

Yes, it’s for the Canadian requirements. Lots of placards required in the “Land of the taxed”.

I must admit I considered engraving my latch with the 'Push' and 'Then Pull' text.
But then I thought that if it was for use in an emergency so someone else could assist an occupant to get out what would I do for the top latch.
Since I am not required to have it where I am I decided to save my money.
