Default Gummy residue removal from windshield

I've been working on the fiberglass fairing around my windshield and have gummy residue left from electrical tape in some areas. I dont want to use laquer thinner to remove it for fear of ruining the windshield. Any suggestions that you know of to safely remove the gummy stuff? Thanks

If it is a small area, just use another piece of the same tape to lift it.

Tiki Torch fuel. I had spray lat on my canopy for 7 years. It spent hours with tiki torch fuel on it. Its very mild naptha. Don't even think about something hotter.
