How do you read spark plug resistance?

I was toying with my multimeter and some new champion plugs for my slick 4371 mags. The meter has several settings for resistance. On the 2k ohm setting I get a reading of about 0.862 across the plug. What does this mean or what is it telling me and how could this be useful?

Thanks!

Check the meter documentation, but I believe it is telling you that the resistance is .862 X 2000 or about 1724 ohms.

2K is the scale

Usually on meters the "2K" mentioned here is the max scale, so most likely the number posted here is probably 862 ohms.

This is exactly how and what I get with my multimeter and I believe as Don has mentioned, it is 2 x .862 X 1000 = 1724

Vic has it. The 2K is a "Range".
If it's set on 2K, you can measure anything from 0 to 2,000 Ohms.
On the 2K range a .862 reading would be 862 ohms
