Dynon Flight Director Basics

My RV12 has Dynon Skyview with the optional Knob Panel. I believe the plane could be used to train for IFR (though of course as a Light Sport it would not be legal for actual IFR flight.)

Can anyone give me some simple steps toward using the Flight Director feature on the Skyview. While I'm competent using the autopilot in this plane I can't decipher from the Skyview manual how to use the IFR features.

Hi Ted:

The flight director will display the flight attitudes the autopilot would fly if it were engaged.

If you know how to fly the autopilot, next time you select AP, also select FD so you can watch how the FD works.

Then deselect the AP and leave the flight director engaged. Manage the FD modes the same way you would manage the AP when it is engaged.

Follow the flight director V bars with the airplane symbol.
