Default B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run

Nothing says Christmas like a few rounds of New Glarus' finest, and what makes it more fun is you have to FLY to get it. You know what that means.....BEER-RUN!

1)Daughter Kate in tow - check
2)Bernie on the wing - check
3)My college buddy Ken and his son Justin (Kate's college buddy) inbound from Iowa- check

We had the makings of a fine day in Badgerland!

The scenic Upper Mississippi was our guide on the way down. We were IFR....wait for it.....I Follow Rivers......

Books, phone, coffee. We'll call Kate "Medium Maintenance"

The ice on the river was amazing!

Turn left at the Wisconsin river and Boscobel is right there. 5000 ft of asphalt goodness and count them 5? courtesy cars! There were 3 left when we landed....

It was a regular RV party - there were 2 -9As in from Chicagoland in addition to our 9A, 7A and 9 taildragger. Nice people, great planes!

We ate at the "Unique Cafe" Nice place. That's Bernie, our waitress, Justin, and his dad Ken. Justin is the head of all the Airforce ROTC Cadets at Iowa State - great kid, looking to fly fast pointy things!

Kate models some of the haul - case of Spotted Cow and Moonman in the baggage area!

I'm very proud of my baby - was just offered and accepted a Job at Google!

Quiet trip home, sun setting over the St Croix..... Happy Holidays Everyone!

Flies an RV, and not only quotes a Todd Snyder song, but lives it. Beautiful photos, too. Respect!

Great pictures and trip write up, like always.

It’s been 35 years since I used to fly up and down the St Croix in sub freezing temps. Miss the beautiful scenes that clear and cold MN winter days produce. Had that here in MO on yesterday’s flight, even with snow on the ground, but typically here the high humidity haze does not allow for such great pictures.

So exactly how many cases of beer will fit in the -9A?

By the way, we have family in Boscobel, so we fly into there all the time. Nice place.
