Holiday flight before the snow storm in Maine today. I got out for an hour with temps 19 degrees overcast waiting for the snow. 4 layers; long sleeve, sweatshirt, flight suite, and jacket, (Toasty, but i dressed too much, half heater). Lakes are frozen and thickening up and should get some snow tonight.

Merry Xmas Governor!

Well, Governor, to keep it thread relevant I did fly on Christmas at RV12 speeds and altitudes. Put couple hours on the hobbs and had almost all airspace to myself. OAT in balmy fifties winds variable at 5.

A Canadian geese colony I herd didn't fly.

Bikers were absent too. They usually wave when I am passing by.

The engineer didn't care about the schedule either...

Even the infantry school AA batteries were sleeping.

Glad to see the ice locked by the Mansion.

Holiday Flight

Not an Ornithologist, guess Canadian geese look diff. on H2O-light appearing as if Snows. Either way, surprised not migrated. As always, super photo views.

They are properly known as Canada Geese, not Canadian Geese, and it's easy to distinguish them from regular geese. Regular geese go "honk, honk." Canada geese go "honk, eh? honk, eh?"

Temperature Extremes

While you guys are shivering in the US, we are sweltering "Down under".
I took a mate over to Rottnest for a coffee and he produced the following video.

Thank you Rob. I would take your heat over our cold any day. I put Rottnest on my bucket list it looks much like Block Island here on 4th of July.
