I wonder if the plexiglass no longer bridging and firmly attached to the original span, affects the structural rigidity of the tail cone?

That said it would surely make the loading and un-loading of baggage much easier.

I wonder if only the left side opens and the right side is rigidly attached. Can't quite make that out from the pictures.

Yes I have seen a picture of a small side door some time ago on this forum. Let me ad that I do not think either is a good idea without talking to Vans first.
