F-1065 thread engagement

Hi there folks, we are installing the F -1065 push rod today and we noticed that we have about 3/8 of an inch of threads engaged into the hex rod. Is this enough? We are concerned that we might not have enough threaded material inside the hex rod to make it structurally sufficient, and the instructions don’t seem to see a lot on the topic unless we overlooked them.

The rod ends should thread in at least half way so that neither end can thread out in case the control rod comes loose and turns (either direction). Have you confirmed that the sticks are parallel and that the actual control rod is the correct length (20.5" I believe).

A minimum of 1/2 inch thread engagement is required on those rod ends. Check the other side possibly you have room to extend their.

I didn’t think it was 1/2” , I thought it was 1/2 of the length of the thread. From your picture, 3/8” is not enough. No matter what control tube you are working on, 1/2 or more of the length of the thread engagement is required. It doesn’t look like you have that from your picture.

more than 1/2 the threads minimum engagement for the reasons previously mentioned.

I'm not familiar with the 10 but it seems that perhaps something isn't rigged properly to get the result you have in the picture.

YEP, y'all are right - I boned this up by not ensuring the sticks were parallel (which they are not). I'll get them adjusted and re-measure the posts which I'm confident will be sufficiently threaded into the rod.
