Alternate Air?

Trying to decide if I should install the alternate air system.

I have read all of the posts on the pro's and con's of installing the alternate air door on the FAB, however all of these have some age on them.

Has there been any new/better ways of installing the door? How is it done on the 14?

Can it be installed with the rivets pro-sealed over?

My set up is RV-7, IO-360 w/horizontal induction.

Alternate Method

HERE is a link to a thread I posted some years ago about my Alternate Air design/installation. The plane has now been flying for 5-1/2 years and 530 hours with absolutely no issues whatsoever with the alternate air system. FWIW.

The alternate air for a 14 is exactly the same as for a 7 or any other RV with the horizontal induction. There has been very few reports of failure with this system, it is simple and works well. If I am not mistaking, most folks that have had issues with their alternate air has been with the vertical induction system.
